The top 10 best-selling smartphone models in the first quarter of 2024 have been revealed, and the list is dominated solely by Samsung and iPhone models.
Following the end of the first quarter of 2024, sales data from various sectors started to emerge. Smartphones were one of these sectors. For example, a report released a few weeks ago revealed the best-selling smartphone brands, with Samsung topping the list at 60.1 million units, surpassing Apple, which came in second with 50.1 million units.
Today, the best-selling smartphone models for the first three months have been announced. A report shared by Counterpoint revealed that the top 10 best-selling phones were from only two brands. The top 10 best-selling smartphones in the first quarter of 2024 are as follows:

iPhone 15 Pro Max
iPhone 15
iPhone 15 Pro
iPhone 14
Galaxy S24 Ultra
Galaxy A15 5G
Galaxy A54
iPhone 15 Plus
Galaxy S24
Galaxy A34
Data is from Counterpoint Research. Different companies may have different results.
The list includes phones with their estimated market shares. According to this data, Apple's top-tier device, the iPhone 15 Pro Max, introduced last September, ranks first with a 4.4% share. This indicates that the company's Pro models are becoming increasingly successful. This is the first time that a Pro model has topped the charts in a quarter. This is not surprising, as sales of iPhone Pro versions have been increasing in recent years. Apple's Pro models accounted for 50% of its sales in the first quarter of 2024.
Looking at the rest of the list, we see that Samsung's S24 Ultra and S24, introduced in February, rank 5th and 9th, respectively. The company has also included devices from its more affordable A series. There is an equal distribution with 5 Apple and 5 Samsung devices in the top 10. Although Apple ranks behind Samsung in the overall ranking, it is still successful. It achieves this by offering only 4 flagship models.
The best-selling models in 2023 were as follows:
